Join Granary Arts for a lecture and workshop with playwright and screenwriter Melissa Leilani Larson.

Adaptation is the translation of a story from one medium to another—a novel to film, for example. But what about adapting something unexpected? In this workshop participants will explore how stories can be found in objects and images.

This workshop is primarily intended for college students, teens and adults. No previous experience is required. This is a free workshop. Space is limited, arrive on time to ensure your spot.
 
There will be a limited number of copies of Melissa Leilani Larson’s book, Little Happy Secrets available at no cost. Books available on a first come first served basis.

About the Instructor: 

Melissa Leilani Larson (she/her) is a mixed-race Filipino American writer from Salt Lake City. Her current work-in-progress, A Form of Flattery, is a BAPF 46 Honorable Mention Finalist and a Portland Center Stage JAW finalist. Recent productions: Little Happy Secrets at Middle Tennessee State; The Edible Complex at Wayne Theatre (tour); Pride and Prejudice at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre, Grand Theatre Co., and Texas Shakes; Bitter Lemon at Plan-B Theatre; Gin Mummy at Utah Valley University; Relative Space, a new musical, at Creekside Theatre Fest; Mestiza, or Mixed at Lift Every Voice Festival; Sweetheart, Come at Pygmalion Theatre; The Post Office at schools across the country (AATE Distinguished Play Award).
