Granary Arts and the Utah Historical Society invite you to join us for a Scan and Share event on Saturday, November 16, 2024 / 11am-3pm. This is an open call for Sanpete and Utah history! Community members are invited to bring photos, letters, recipes, and other items of personal and historical significance, past and present. The documents will be digitized and added to the online collection, “Peoples of Utah Revisited.”

Utahns embrace a rural identity despite most of our state’s population being urban and most of its land being public. Come learn more about the tension between the ideals versus realities of life in rural Utah as change – past and present – affects its communities.

Granary Arts invites you to join us for Community Conversation: Connected to the Land, moderated by Micol Hebron. Come listen to local community members responding to the prompt, “What is Your Connection to the Land?” in a unique and collaborative live event highlighting the experiences of women in rural Utah. 

Attendees are invited to bring a simple object that expresses their connection to the land. These items will be exchanged at the end of the event, please bring something you are willing to give away, and plan to go home with something new. This can be a rock, poem, flower, drawing, recipe, dirt, etc. anything that connects you to the land.

Join Granary Arts for a lecture and workshop with playwright and screenwriter Melissa Leilani Larson.

Adaptation is the translation of a story from one medium to another—a novel to film, for example. But what about adapting something unexpected? In this workshop participants will explore how stories can be found in objects and images.

This workshop is primarily intended for college students, teens and adults. No previous experience is required. This is a free workshop. Space is limited, arrive on time to ensure your spot.

Granary Arts invites you to join us for the one-night performance of Fragments in Solitude presented by Snow College Choreography under the instruction of Dmitri Peskov.

Fragments in Solitude is a silent-disco performance that showcases exhibitions, Juxtaposing Afro-Surrealism by Chelle Barbour and The Wayside and Whispers by Fidalis Buehler. Dancers guide the audience through the exhibitions, immersing the viewer and expanding the limits of performance.

 Bring your own headphones if you wish to access the playlist. 

Granary Arts invites you to join us for a one-night group exhibition, Creative Aging: Watercolor Works by local community members.

Artist Kim Gordon taught a series of watercolor workshops intended for adults 55+. Participants learned the basic techniques of watercolor over the course of four weeks. Come enjoy refreshments, socialize, and see the participants finished works of art!
